Mike has always worked hard to build up our communities. 

He has helped recruit family doctors and other health professionals to our area and lead efforts to keep the local blood lab open…

  • On October 24th, Mike was elected Councillor for Ward 3 of the City of Kawartha Lakes.

    Mike has been Treasurer of the Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce where he originally served back in 1998. He was also a Board member of the Kawartha North Family Health Team and volunteered with the Kawartha Lake Stewards Association to help keep Cameron and Sturgeon Lakes healthy.

    Mike has helped bring funds for workers and families including in Fenelon, Cameron, and north toward Rosedale. When leading the pilot program for rural transit, Mike ensured the shopping bus included stops in Cambray, Cameron, Fenelon Falls Long Beach, and Rosedale. He was part of the group that brought the seniors health park to Fenelon. Mike has advised new businesses through the Starter Company Plus program and served as a mentor with Junior Achievement for young people at the high school.

    Mike attended Fenelon Falls Public School and FFSS and has been involved in the area all his life, beginning in Grade 8 when he presented to then Fenelon Falls Council about turning the vacant railway bed into a walking trail. He had a paper route in town, taught swimming at the Garnet Graham Beach Park, and worked at the tourism office in the old Fenelon train station as summer jobs. Mike was a judge of the Santa Day Parade for years and his late mother Mary supply taught at Fenelon Township Public School.

    A lawyer and social worker by profession Mike works from home for the Métis National Council and is a proud past member of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves. He also runs his own small business which provides professional services.

    Mike lives on Dodd Street in Fenelon Falls with his children Abigail and Gabe and is a parishioner of St. James Anglican Church.
